Service Honda builds their AF500 motorcycles with a CRF250R chassis. That leaves about 150 CRF250R engines available for sale. Forward Motion is now offering 290cc engines featuring a brand new Honda engine kitted with a Vertex 290cc big bore cylinder and piston, a #2 Hot Cam, and Flow-Porting for mid-top. This produces a wider powerband that doesn't sign-off like a traditional big bore kit. Of course there are other options available like Wiseco forged clutch basket or Hinson Pro clutch package, SFB flywheel weight, #1 Hot Cam, or a 2004 & Big Port & head kitted with 1mm oversize Xceldyne hollow-point DLC treated titanium valves and PSI springs. Off-road riders may prefer Black Diamond stainless steel valves instead.

If you have a 2 year old CRF you'd be hard pressed to rebuild your old engine and buy these high performance parts for the same price. This price is about the same as a Pro Circuit porting job to your stock head with extra parts like a 250cc piston kit, valves, and a cam, or just a Ice-Cube kit performed to your old stock engine.
